Course Overview

A rigorous extension club focused on tackling challenging physics problems. Students will develop advanced problem-solving skills through structured discussion, independent thinking, and exposure to demanding questions, building the depth and confidence required for competitive university applications and entrance assessments.

Physics and Maths at AL or IB are essential.

Indicative Session Outline

  1. Recap of radioactivity topics for ESAT preparation
  2. Recap of magnetic fields for ESAT
  3. Tackling challenging circuit problems, with a focus on resistor networks and common exam pitfalls
  4. Practising multi-step calculation questions with an emphasis on clear structure and accuracy
  5. Developing strategies for multiple-choice questions across A Level and IB
  6. Exploring complex forces problems and developing robust solution approaches
  7. Analysing difficult waves questions, including interpretation and modelling
  8. Collaborative problem solving, including sharing, discussing, and critiquing solutions
