We are thrilled to welcome Jennifer Brandsberg-Engelmann as our latest Academic in Residence at Wellington College. A renowned educator with over 25 years of experience, Jennifer is a leading voice in economics education. Her expertise spans the development of innovative curricula, including pioneering work on integrating themes like social enterprise and regenerative economics into secondary school learning. She has co-developed syllabi alongside trailblazers such as Oxford economist Kate Raworth, whose Doughnut Economics framework underpins much of Jennifer’s recent work.
During her visit, Jennifer gave an engaging Fireside Talk on Regenerative Economics on Monday evening, encouraging students to think critically about economic systems and sustainability.
On Tuesday, Jennifer worked with our A-level Economics students, delivering both consolidation and extension sessions, and led a Year 12 Environmental Systems and Societies lesson. She also ran a workshop for our top Lower Sixth economics students and delivered a CPD session for staff, sharing practical strategies for teaching economics in dynamic and innovative ways.
Jennifer’s visit provided valuable learning opportunities for both students and staff, sparking fresh ideas and perspectives on economics education. We are grateful for her time and expertise and look forward to building on the inspiration she has provided.
