Academic Pursuit Beyond The Curriculum
At Wellington every student enjoys rich opportunities for academic extension and challenge. Nobody’s potential is fixed; everybody can develop and transform his or her capacity for learning. Each and every member of the Wellington community has the opportunity to develop a genuine and lifelong love of learning.
This webpage provides details of the different ways that you can stretch and challenge yourself academically at Wellington. You can find out about weekly clubs and societies, and one-off talks, lectures and demonstrations. There is information about competitions within and beyond Wellington, as well as links to reading lists, online courses and holiday activities. Where will you take yourself?

WEDNESDAY 5 June
4.30-5.55pm Set Zero Maths. For anyone with an interest in problem solving and puzzles, Set Zero is an exciting opportunity to develop your problem-solving skills. Questions will be provided, but feel free to bring your own puzzles or problems too. All welcome. Maths department.
5-6pm French Debating Club. All welcome. MFL3.
4.30-5.30pm Debating Society (Third form). Come and learn how to debate! We have amazing coaches and cake. All welcome from beginners to experts. All welcome. Library (Moral Room).

6-7pm The Development Section. Investigations into Music. Interesting discussion and listening on a range of musical styles, sometimes led by a member of staff, sometimes by students. Open to all. Music department.

Lecture Programme
The Inspire Series and Master’s Lectures
As well as a wealth of guest speakers in departments, we have an impressive range of speakers from universities, industry, commercial life and public life who come to the school. All students are welcome to attend.
The Inspire series is held on Mondays, 8–9pm (unless otherwise specified), in Napoleon’s Retreat.
